When our son was injured in a car accident during his yeshiva year in Israel, he had to start navigating the medical system on his own. But once we contacted Dr. Eliana Aaron at EMA Care (www.HealthCareIsrael.com), she immediately flew into action. Dr. Aaron accompanied our son in the ER and made sure he and we knew at every step exactly what was done and what needed to be done, especially important for someone who suffered a concussion and might not have been able to keep all the critical information straight. She coordinated the insurance logistics, and she kept tabs on our son’s treatment, recovery, medication, and progress – all the dos and don’ts. She even arranged for us to get his CT scan and X-ray images from the hospital, just in case they might be useful later. And all the while, she ensured full communications with us and our son, as well as with the yeshiva.
For anyone who has had to navigate the medical system here in the US, imagine how much more difficult it would be for your child to go it alone in a different country with a different system and speaking a different language, all without his/her normal support system. In one person, Dr. Aaron remedied it all!
